# Inviting your team

> Add teammates, manage pending invites, and understand what each role can do.

Surfais accounts are shared by your whole team, not locked to one login. Invite teammates from **Settings → Members**, assign each one a role, and everyone with access sees the same brands, scans, and reports — while managing their own individual [notification preferences](/billing/notifications).

## Inviting a teammate

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Members">
    Go to **Settings → Members** and select **Invite member**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter their email and choose a role">
    Pick **Member** or **Org admin** — see the breakdown below for what each can do.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the invitation">
    They receive an email with a sign-up link, valid for 14 days. If email delivery fails for any reason, Surfais tells you immediately and lets you copy the invite link to share manually instead — the invitation is still created either way.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Roles and permissions

Surfais has three roles. Only the first two are something you assign — the third is a platform-level role that isn't set from this page.

| Role            | Can do                                                                                     |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Member** | Read all brands, prompts, and results; run scans. |
| **Org admin** | Everything a member can, plus manage billing and invite, remove, or promote other members. |
| **Super admin** | A platform-level role outside your organisation's control — not assigned from here.        |

Every organisation needs at least one org admin at all times — Surfais won't let you demote or remove the last remaining org admin, so you can't accidentally lock your own team out of billing and member management.

## Managing pending invites

Invitations that haven't been accepted yet appear in a **Pending invitations** table below your member list, showing when each was sent and when it expires. From here you can:

* **Copy invite link** — grab the same link the invitation email contains, useful if the original email didn't arrive.
* **Resend** — send a fresh copy of the invitation email.
* **Revoke** — cancel the invitation before it's accepted.

## Changing a role or removing someone

From the member list, an org admin can promote a member to org admin, demote an org admin back to member, or remove someone from the organisation entirely — each from the row's action menu. Removing someone revokes their access immediately; if you want them back later, you'll need to send a new invitation rather than restore the old one.

<Warning>
  You can't change your own role, and you can't demote or remove the last remaining org admin — both exist to stop a team accidentally losing access to its own billing and member management.
</Warning>

## Seats

| Plan       | Team seats |
| ---------- | ---------- |
| Starter    | 10         |
| Growth     | 10         |
| Scale      | 10         |
| Enterprise | Unlimited  |

Seats apply per organisation, not per brand — an agency account managing several client brands still draws from the same seat allowance rather than one per brand. See [Plans & limits](/billing/plans-limits) for the full tier comparison.
