Your dashboard is the home view for a single brand — the AIS Score gauge, trends, competitor standing, and platform-level detail all live here. This page walks through each widget in the order it appears.
If a brand hasn’t been scanned yet, the dashboard shows a “get scan-ready” checklist instead of the widgets below — see Awaiting data vs a real zero.

AIS Score gauge

The large gauge at the top left is your AIS Score — a single number out of 100 summarising how visible your brand is across all 5 AI platforms. It’s a weighted blend of four signals:
  • Visibility (60%) — how often AI answers mention you at all
  • Position (15%) — where you rank among the brands named in an answer, when you do appear
  • Sentiment (10%) — how positively AI frames your brand when it mentions you
  • Share of Voice (15%) — your share of every brand mention across your tracked prompts, against your competitors and every other brand the AI names
Click View breakdown under the gauge to open a drawer showing each signal’s individual score, its weight, and a “how it adds up” bar showing exactly how much each signal contributed to the final number. Full detail: The AIS Score. The gauge also shows a delta pill (change since your last scan) and an “as of” date. Under the branded/non-branded filter, the gauge pins your brand-wide score (labelled “Brand-wide”) rather than recomputing per slice, since the filtered slice doesn’t have its own comparable history.

Supporting signals

Beside the gauge, two smaller tiles show signals that inform your visibility but aren’t part of the AIS Score itself:
  • Score consistency — how steady your AIS Score has been across your recent scans. Shows “Building history” until you have at least 3 scans.
  • Source visibility — how often AI cites your own pages directly, versus relying on third-party sources, when it mentions you. See Source visibility.

Rank chips and competitive gap

If you’re tracking competitors, small chips near the page title show your rank for AIS, sentiment, and average position against them — with an arrow indicating whether that rank improved or declined since your last scan. Below the gauge, a competitive-gap card compares your score directly against the closest-ranked competitor, with a stacked bar showing your Share of Voice against your top 3 competitors on the same scale.

Headline metrics

A row of metric cards shows Total Mentions, Citation Count, Average Sentiment, Platforms Tracked, and Competitors Tracked, each with a delta against the prior period. These are counts from your latest scan, not the AIS Score itself — useful for a quick read on volume and trend without opening the breakdown drawer.

Platform distribution and competitor leaderboard

Two cards sit side by side: one shows how your mentions and cited pages are distributed across the 5 platforms, and the other ranks every tracked brand (yours and your competitors) by AIS Score, sentiment, and position. See The 5 AI platforms we track for what each platform measures.

Visibility trend

A line chart plotting your AIS Score, sentiment, and position over the last 90 days, with a line per tracked brand so you can see how you’re moving relative to competitors over time. See Why scores move if you’re trying to explain a jump or drop.

Google Search Console summary

If you’ve connected Google Search Console, this card summarises your organic search performance alongside your AI visibility, so you can compare where you rank in traditional search against where you show up in AI answers. See Connecting GSC.

Platform breakdown table

Near the bottom, a table breaks down Presence %, Average Position, Sentiment, and Source Visibility % per platform — the same four signals as the gauge, but split out platform by platform rather than blended into one score.

Running a manual scan

The Run Visibility Scan button in the top right triggers an on-demand scan outside your automatic schedule. Paid tiers get a fixed monthly allowance of manual scans (Enterprise is unlimited); the button shows how many you have left and locks once you’ve used them for the month, refilling on the 1st. A tooltip on the button explains exactly what a click will cost you before you commit to it. See Manual scans for the full allowance by tier and Plans & limits for what’s included on each plan. Before your first scan, this button is replaced by the get-scan-ready checklist described below — your very first full scan across all 5 platforms is free and doesn’t touch your manual-scan allowance.

Awaiting data vs a real zero score

Surfais draws a firm line between two states that can look similar at a glance but mean very different things:
  • Awaiting data — no scan has run yet. The gauge shows “Awaiting first scan” rather than a number, because there’s nothing to measure yet.
  • A real score of 0 — a scan has run, and your brand genuinely isn’t appearing. This renders as a calm, neutral “No visibility yet” state rather than an alarming red score, but it’s a real, measured result — not a placeholder.
The same distinction applies to source visibility and the other supporting signals. If you’re ever unsure which state you’re looking at, the “as of” date under the gauge is the tell: no date means no scan has run; a date means the number in front of you is real.
