What connecting unlocks
Once Search Console is connected and a property is mapped to a brand, you get:- Coverage Gaps — queries with real Google search volume that your AIS Score isn’t capturing yet, ranked by opportunity.
- Search vs AI comparison on your brand dashboard — your organic search performance shown alongside your AI visibility for the same brand, so you can see the two side by side rather than in separate tools.
- Cannibalisation watch — a signal that flags when an AI answer may be drawing clicks away from your own organic search results.
Connecting your account
1
Start the connection
From Settings → Integrations, click Connect Google Search Console. You’ll be sent to Google’s own sign-in and consent screen — Surfais never sees your Google password, only the permissions you grant.
2
Grant access
Sign in with the Google account that has access to the Search Console properties you want to bring in, and approve the requested permissions.
3
Choose your properties
You’re brought back to Surfais and shown every property your Google account has access to. Tick the ones you want Surfais to sync — you don’t have to bring in everything at once, and you can add more later from the same Integrations page.
4
Wait for the first sync
Once you confirm your selection, Surfais starts pulling data for the properties you chose. First results typically appear within a few minutes, with the full daily sync established from the next day onward.
A property still needs to be mapped to the right brand before its data shows up on that brand’s dashboard or Coverage Gaps page. If a brand shows “not mapped yet,” head back to Settings → Integrations to map it.
How the connection is scoped
The Google account connection lives at the level of your whole account, not an individual brand — this matters if you manage several brands, since one Search Console connection can supply data to every brand it’s mapped to, rather than requiring a separate connection each time. See Agencies: getting started if you’re managing brands on behalf of clients.Countries
Surfais syncs Search Console data for the countries you’re already tracking that brand in — there’s nothing extra to configure. As you add or remove tracked countries in Countries & markets, the Search Console sync follows automatically, scoped to the same markets and bounded by your plan’s country allowance (see Plans & limits).Disconnecting and reconnecting
You can disconnect a Search Console connection at any time from Settings → Integrations. Disconnecting stops the daily sync but keeps your historical data — reconnecting later picks up where you left off rather than starting from zero. If you’d genuinely like a clean slate, a separate option lets you delete the historical data outright; this is a deliberate, confirmed action since it can’t be undone. Disconnecting only affects Surfais’s access for your account — it doesn’t touch the Google account itself or its access to Search Console anywhere else.If Surfais can’t sync a connected property for several days in a row — most often because access was revoked on Google’s side — the connection pauses itself automatically and you’ll get an email prompting you to reconnect. This is deliberate: a silently broken connection would show stale data without telling you, and Surfais would rather flag it plainly.
